It’s a great day for fishing under the Capricorn new moon. A trip to the nearest river, lake or ocean will give you much needed time to think. Careers and reputation are top of mind today as the moon remains in hard-working Capricorn, amplified by the first phase of its new cycle and the cultural excitement of a new year. The first step to living the life you want to live is to see every detail clearly in your mind’s eye. Only then can you start planning and taking the steps necessary to manifest it.

The Sun and Saturn – both transiting through Capricorn – are parallel, working in harmony today to keep us on track and on top of our responsibilities. We are under the influence of powerful Capricornian energies right now, as I noted in yesterday’s Moony Musing. Go-getter Sun wound up from yesterday’s partial eclipse and determined, disciplined Saturn encourage us to concentrate and focus on moving forward.

Many of us will feel the call to take the actions required to propel us into success. Others, of course, will rebel by complaining and harboring resentment. Grudges or feelings of depression and disappointment are signs of a string tying us to the past. It’s time to cut loose and look to the future.

Uranus has been retrograde since August 7, 2018 but stations direct today in Aries. This plant goes retrograde once a year with its next cycle from August 11, 2019 to January 10, 2020 and changes signs every seven years. When a planet is in retrograde, it appears to halt before transiting backwards from our vantage point on Earth. Of course, it isn’t really moving in reverse. It just appears that way from our vantage point.

With unconventional Uranus no longer in retrograde, we may slip back into routines or see a new normal established in our daily lives. This is a great combination for our new moon planning yesterday for a successful six months to come. For those unable to create a simple, efficient system of success for the new year, Uranus in Aries could reveal changes that need to be made in order to make steps closer to being there. The only time is now and this planet under the influence of impulsive, independent Aries reminds us all to live in the present.

Uranus will remain in Aries until it enters Taurus on March 6, 2019.
